Jaggy Thistle Photography
Welcome
Our beloved home of Scotland is home to some of the most breath-taking vistas in the entire world, please join me, Award winning professional photographer Stuart Waugh in exploring these stunning sights through the art of photography.
These retreats to the more serene areas of Scotland allow us all a very welcome escape and a chance to detach from the headaches of everyday life all whilst deepening your understanding of photography.
My journey in the photography industry began around 40 years ago when I became a specialist in 35mm Camera & Lenses through my job in the photographic equipment Industry, since then my passion for photography has only grown, first doing work as a wedding and product photographer before I found my niche in landscape photography.
I have fallen in love with Scotland’s beautiful vistas and photographing these has led to me achieving the honour of attaining numerous awards including receiving the Photographers Bar in both 2021 ,2022 and 2023 in the natural world and open categories.
Most notably achieving Craftsman status with The Guild of Professional Photographers and most recently being awarded International top Ten Natural World Photographer of the year, This was due to my photography in the stunning landscapes that can be seen during my workshops in Glencoe, Glenfinnan and the Isle of Skye.
The landscape photography workshops give us a chance to truly absorb the natural beauty and tranquillity that surround us in the highlands. The serenity and beauty of these areas manage to captivate me and my students every time. My keenly trained eye and deep knowledge of photography enable me to easily convey and patiently breakdown the finer points of photography to my students. This experience will be of great benefit to not only your photography skills, but you will also find an inner peace in these serene lands.
