These amazing photography workshops are an opportunity to catch your breath, relax, and develop an understanding of photography and the stunning Landscape that surrounds us.

Making this an absolutely fabulous base camp for exploring multiple photography locations and an ideal location to go in various directions for the best weather conditions.

    Our Workshops

are very relaxed and chilled out, about having fun, enjoying as much photography as we can fit in our time together in some of the worlds most beautiful landscapes.

Arriving at Hotel:

Arrive at hotel for introductions and coffee. The workshop will start around 1 pm, we will be aiming for two location shoots before catching our first sunset.

Rooms:

Rooms are not shared all group participants will have their own private bedroom within the hotel.

Daily Timetable :

We do not run to a set timetable as this invariably changes due to time of year and weather. However we do maximise our time using best light. Also using excellent weather apps and making the most of sunrise and sunset times which means varying start and stop times. Most days are long and filled with many on location photo shoots.

Equipment:

What you will need ; Camera and tripod of some sort. Preferably a Digital SLR or mirror-less camera although this is not essential, many people attend the courses with a wide variety of non DLSR cameras. The basic functions of any camera are the same and when it comes to composition or processing your images, the type of camera used is not a factor. It is also advisable to bring a spare camera battery and memory card. Any other photographic equipment you have you may bring along.

(Tripods and some filters may be borrowed on prior request)

Computing Equipment :

Your own laptop would be advantageous but non essential.

Experience :

Experience is not needed you can be a complete beginner taking your first steps into the photography world, In fact we love nothing more than helping the newbies hone their skills, or a talented experienced photographer coming along for the locations and enjoying the moment with like minded people.

Fitness Level :

We cater for people of all ages and fitness levels. Although we won't be walking for miles the locations will require us to walk over some uneven ground at times. Our locations have been extensively researched to ensure that we will have access to the most beautiful scenery with the least amount of effort.

Weather:

We use excellent modern day weather Apps. We also have the advantage of being central to many locations which are within a short drive enabling us to follow the fairer weather. Whilst we can not guarantee glorious weather in Scotland all the time, usually the wild weather makes for some of the most spectacular photography and should be embraced with optimism. If weather is extremely bad to the level which we are unable to go out we can spend some time in the hotel doing post-processing.

Clothing :

Good outdoor clothing is essential due to good old Scottish weather which can change very quickly. You most definitely require waterproof boots plus wellies and the other essentials such as hats a gloves etc if you're not warm and dry you're not having fun.

Post Processing:

If you have any energy left post-processing will be done at the hotel in the evening. Using Lightroom or similar software. We will look over your images and give you any assistance in developing and getting the most from your images.

£150 Deposit payable on booking balance due 4 weeks prior to event.
